Luftpavilion

Air as a creative design material is elusive when compared to physical elements. During the workshop we will ask ourselves: How can we represent air? Can we design with air? Can we create an airflow? What is air made of? What is it transporting? Can we smell, hear, feel air? Building on the expertise of the Institute for Architecture and Landscape, the workshop conveys new ways of thinking about air. Students encounter the sensory experience of a space where every breath leads closer to an ecological awareness.

Introduzione al workshop

Shaping airflow

Air, climate and atmosphere connect all living beings on earth. Air is food, information carrier, energy producer and resource at the same time. Their quality, composition or movement goes a long way in defining the atmosphere of a place and establishing its specificity. Although one of the most important elements, air as a creative design material is elusive when compared to physical elements. Each group of students will create a conceptual artistic installation that focuses on air and addresses its nature, meaning, characteristics and potential. Students encounter the sensory experience of a space where every breath leads closer to an ecological awareness.
